VMS 330 Video problems

Had VMS 330 installed last August (2014) at Lazydays in FL video does not work properly. Its usually the rear camera that goes out first and then come on sometime later after going from manual to auto. Next time one of the turn cameras will stop working or both.Cameras must be ok the do come on when Silverleaf is working. Very frustrating and not safe. I have checked all the connections. Could the Silverleaf video box be the problem?

This unit was installed to replace an Aladin system.

re: VMS 330 Video problems

Hello Don

There's a companion unit within that system now; a VDX-404. Its the video switch which then passes the video through the VMS-330 (then onto the display) where things appear wonky.

It seems the video from the VDX-404 is problematic. At first blush, I'd suspect the video cable that runs between the two boxes is jiggling loose.

It could be the (output) at the '404 or at the (input) '330. These are simple RCA-style connections. They usually fit snugly, but, if the wiring near them is jostled, they may get pulled on inadvertently.

Start with that and keep us posted or give a call.

VMS vidieo problems

Hello Art,

Thanks for the feed back. I checked all the connections like you said . They are all in tight. I failed to mention earlier that I do get the engine data with out any issues but camera operation is none right now. I did move the vidieo out connection just to see if any camera would work and the right side camera worked on vidieo 3 and 4 put it back to location 1 and I get nothing. My install date for this system was September12, 2014 has there been problems with the VDX 404? The unit has both a green and red light on but the red light is flashing. does that indicate a problem? Would replacing the VDX 404 solve this problem?

Thanks again

Don Tucher

Hello Don, I think your

Hello Don,

I think your original working-hypothesis is correct, the VDX-404 is having problems. There aren't any known or regular occurring problems with this unit, yet, it seems yours may need our attention.

Give a call when you've time and we'll get you a solution set up.

Art, just received the

Art, just received the replacement unit today. May 11, 2015.
I changed both the 404 and 330 boxes and did get the video I have been needing. Then I noticed the box sent to replace the 330 is a 333. So I searched the menu screen and found some differences. Primarily the tire monitoring. So at that point I put the 330 box back in and every thing still worked fine. I guess that means the problem was the 404. I will be returning the 333 box along with the 404. I should get these shipped tomorrow.
I do have a couple additional question. I don't get video and data on the same screen as I did previously Is there something in the set up I can change to make this happen? Also how do I check to make sure the system knows my fuel tank capacity?
Thanks for everything .Looking forward to hearing from you soon

re: VMS-330

Hello Don

I'm glad the new VDX-404 took care of the problem. Thank you for returning the VMS-333 next pass by the PO.

I'm not sure why the settings would change on the '330. I'm going to back channel this--by email--for now.

VMS 330

Art,

I guess you received the box that I returned that shipped to the wrong address. ( Newal)
Now for my real problem. I'm still having video problems with my VMS 330.I have changed the 404 box checked all the connections and still do not get camera video. I do get engine data but have never been able to get the overlay working when I did have video. Sometimes I can push the Silverleaf button and get rear camera then again to go back to engine data. I did find in set up where to activate the overlay. Its on but not working. Not sure what to do next.

Thanks,

Don Tucher

VMS 330

Art,

I guess I'm about to run out of warranty this month. Had this system originally installed at Lazydays. FL. Does my warranty extend because of the 404 box change? I don't think this system has been 100% since intalation. I can take it back to Lazydays for help if necessary. Please advise.
Thanks,

Don Tucher

re: video on your VMS

Hello Don

You'll need to get some tech hands-on to clear this up. The units sent should have aided in this--if not, there's not much I can recommend using text in this box--this requires a tech to systematically go through it.

I can't extend the warranty as the units sent were new. Once at Lazy Dayz, have them give us a call for clarification or assistance when they wring out the cabling and units.

VMS 330 video update

Art, I have video on all 3 cameras but here is the surprise. I get overlay on left and right cameras but not on the rear camera. Is there something else I should be checking?

re: VMS 330 video update

Hello Don

It would appear as though the Rear video camera isn't going through the VMS330. It is going directly to the monitor.

Also, the VMS330 seems connected to the output of the switchbox (for the other two cameras.)

Unplug the video lines from the VMS330. Connect the rear camera to the VMS' INPUT. Its OUT then goes to the monitor.

Take the output of the switchbox and plug it into the monitor. This should free-up one cable.

330 video problems

Art ,I'm going to try to describe my current connections. I appreciate your help .
On the 404 I have 3 VIDEO IN ( location1=R, location2=LFT, 3 location=RT ).

404 Video OUT 1=Video out, This goes to VIDEO IN on the 330.
The OUT on the 330 goes to the AV1 for monitor. Still no overlay on rear cam.
This next sequence is how I get cameras to work.
On the key pad: Press view one time to get just data, press 2 times get Rear camera and no overlay but I get LFT & RT camera with overlay.Press 3 times and back to just data.
In your description I need to make two monitor connections, Is that right?
I only have one marked its marked AV1. There are two old lines used previously on Aladin system for left & right. Is that what I need to connect to?

Thanks,

Don Tucher
