Now you can use your Windows-based PC tablet or notebook to monitor your engine - with the VMSpc. VMSpc is an intelligent data translator that links between your USB port and engine diagnostic connector on your rig. Together with the special software, it allows you to read performance and diagnostic information right on your laptop computer. You get complete real-time performance gauges, diagnostics, trip information and graphing system that lets you display any number of parameters at once. You can even store the engine data to a file and load it into a spreadsheet.

  • Check out the VMSpc 'Best-Of' Gallery of Installations.

  • But wait! There's more! VMSpc let's you program audible alarms based on any engine parameter. For example, you can set it to play any MP3 or WAV file (grab a microphone and record your own!) when your road speed reaches a certain point. Have it played once, once a minute, or continuously.

And you can create a "Tank Minder", which provides a miles-to-empty calculation based on your tank size and fuel economy. VMSpc lets you enter correction factors to compensate for a poorly calibrated engine/ drivetrain. You can even program gauges to read in metric, if you desire.

Professional engineers use VMSpc to test their vehicle designs. Now you can use the same tools to test your coach.

Feel free to Download the VMSpc software - it's free. In fact, SilverLeaf Electronics is committed to provide the VMSpc software and all updates absolutely free on our web site. We welcome your input and encourage you to tell us what you'd like to see in future versions of VMSpc.

    PressurePro™ Gateway

The new PressurePro 'Gateway' replaces the original 'Bridge' unit found in so many coaches today. That's why its the most popular tire monitoring sensor system in the RV industry. This new gateway unit is compatible with most of our current line-up.

PressurePro sensors install directly on the valve stem, making it easy to install. The receiver can be mounted anywhere in the RV, and requires hooking up just four wires.

If you already have PressurePro sensors, all you need is the Receiver ($295.00), power cable ($20 to $30.00), and antenna. Two antenna choices are available. Smaller coaches with centrally located receivers can use the 6" antenna ($15.00). Larger coaches usually require the 35' cabled antenna ($50.00), which allows more flexibility in the location.

If you do not already have PressurePro sensors, they are available from SilverLeaf Electronics for $50.00 apiece. Some coaches may require a Echo Signal Repeater ($93.00, incl. cable), especially for long trailers and tows.

More information on the PressurePro systems are available at

You may need to update your VMS software to use PressurePro. Call us for details.

    Glass Dash

The ultimate gauge cluster has arrived. SilverLeaf’s VMS 645 CL provides a full "digital dash" that expands the benefits of SilverLeaf’s VMS technology to the greatest degree possible. Every analog gauge and indicator light is replaced by precise, accurate, and stylish digital images in this complete cluster replacement. How about some examples?

    VMS 640 for web.jpg

Newmar, Foretravel, Country Coach, Monaco and American all offer the VMS 645 CL on their coaches. The product is also available as an aftermarket addition for almost any recent model diesel pusher. Each version is unique, programmed to the specifications of the coach builder.

The VMS 645 CL uses a state-of-the-art display for outstanding daylight readability. It also uses special optics to eliminate glare, so the sun’s reflection does not cause the "white-out" that makes almost any ordinary plastic surface unreadable. The color scheme, or palette, automatically changes with the headlights, along with the backlight brightness. During the day a hot, bright palette gives vivid contrast, while at night cool colors pamper the eyes.

The design takes full advantage of the digital technology. In addition to the conventional icons that populate an ordinary dash, this unit provides a "message center" that explicitly states what all the warnings mean. It includes warnings such as "low fuel" that come in gradations. The fuel icon and "low fuel" message will change from yellow to red as the tank empties, and temperature messages and icons will do the same as temperatures rise.

The product also folds in all of the features of the smaller VMS displays, such as trip information, diagnostics, and support for the many SilverLeaf accessories. One remarkable feature that was first introduced on the VMS 440 CL is the video capabilities. The unit provides a video window for the rear camera (or possibly other purposes). While driving the video window is just large enough to show the tow car and monitor the surrounding lanes. While in reverse the window expands to the full screen for a detailed view of the area behind the coach. The unit also provides choices in how the screen is laid out and the style of the gauges. Each RV manufacturer has their own gauge designs and layouts to choose from. These include purely digital gauges, along with showy analog gauges and various hybrids. Different layouts emphasize certain gauges, and a driver may change his selection according to the type of driving he anticipates each day.

Knowledgeable RVers may realize that other companies have produced "digital dashes" before SilverLeaf. The concept of a "glass dash" is common in aviation, and RV builders have tried to emulate their airborne brethren. All of these attempts have been based on PC technology, and have been hobbled by poor displays, unreliable hardware, and software challenges. SilverLeaf is fortunate in starting with a robust display technology that has been a commercial for some time but rarely available to the consumer.

But our biggest advantage over our predecessors is our experience with automotive electronics. The VMS 645 CL uses the same solid-state electronics as our well-proven VMS 440 CL, and is designed for the automotive 12 VDC environment. Most importantly - it does not do Windows! SilverLeaf is responsible for every line of code - it comes on instantly, and is immune to the bugs that bedevil PC systems.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating - or in this case, the driving. The feedback from our customers to date has been tremendously positive. Everyone seems to appreciate having precise, readable gauges that can be trusted, along with all the driver tools and other benefits. And no one seems to mind having to show it off to everyone else in the RV park. Bragging rights do come with a price!

    VMS 330 Image Goes Here

Have you always wanted a SilverLeaf Electronics VMS system for your coach only to find that you don't have enough room in your dash for one?

The VMS 330 takes advantage of the back up monitor already installed on most motorcoaches on the road today by overlaying your vehicle's digital instrumentation and diagnostics on any color LCD back up monitor. The display is selectable by showing just camera, just data, or both at the same time.

Along with all the digitally accurate information from your engine and transmission, it comes with built-in support for Pressure Pro™ tire monitoring. **Additional Equipment Required**

The VMS 330 hides away unseen inside the dash inline with the back up camera and is operated with a small control pad that mounts within easy reach. Installation is a snap!

    Total Coach - HMS365

SilverLeaf has long been providing "one-stop shopping" for all the engine and chassis information that a coach owner could desire. Now we're also offering the same sort of intelligent integration for the rest of the coach. Our Total Coach™ House Monitoring System (HMS365) ties together the Inverter, Generator, Transfer Switch, Tank Levels, Heating, Cooling and much more to provide a smart, simple way to automate, monitor, and control your coach.

    a 360 goes here

The center of the system is the Total Coach Monitor. This graphic control panel can be compared to an extra-large VMS for the galley. It provides instant indicators of the status of every system, and detailed information is never more than a keystroke away. In fact, a single touch of the screen will start or stop the generator, inverter, water pump, or any other device that is part of the system. It is simple and very convenient.

The Total Coach System is modular, and SilverLeaf customizes the system for each RV manufacturer. The Total Coach System is also appropriate for bus conversions and major coach upgrades.

    Connect It with Wifi!

Total Control from Your Phone or Tablet!

Put your control panel in your pocket! If you have a SilverLeaf RV-C coach system you can now add our TM-550 WiFi Module and connect your Android phone or tablet. You now have a wireless connection to your coach that you can use on the sofa, from the driver seat, or even take outside. You can both monitor and control - so you can start your generator or turn off your water pump from anywhere within range.

We use a WiFi transmitter to reach distances of over a hundred feet. Installation is easy - Plug into an unused bus-tap port or tee into the existing Silverleaf connectors. Download the software to the phone or tablet, and then pair the device.

The TM-550 WiFi Module is $250.00 and works with Android and iOS devices.

These are real screen shots from a Motorola Atrix phone. You can download and preview the application from either the Android Play store or Apple's iTunes site.

VDX 404 Solid State Video Source Selector

This module is being phased out and to be replaced by the TM-350 - Video Matrix 7x5.

Designed specifically for in-vehicle video applications where multiple video sources must be switched among multiple monitors. Perfect for splitting and switching rear and side-view camera signals to two or more monitors. It also makes it easy to set up security camera systems for RVs. You can even set up a passenger video station with GPS and camera video completely under the passenger's control.

Four Video Inputs, Four Video Outputs

Share video signals from side and rear cameras, GPS systems, security cameras, or video entertainment devices. Any standard NSTC signal is allowed. (Note: The switch handles video only, not audio.) Display the video on up to four monitors. At any time, any input can be routed to any output, and inputs can be duplicated. Thus the VDX 404 eliminates the need for signal splitters and amplifiers.

    Digital Switching Technology

The VDX 404 uses state-of-the-art digital switching technology. All outputs are fully buffered, eliminating the need for signal amplifiers or conditioners. Switching time is under one millisecond - far less than the video frame rate, or what the human eye can perceive. The unit requires only 200 milliamps at 12 Vdc.

    Programmable Digital Outputs

Two digital outputs are provided to allow the unit to signal other devices or drive relays. Each can be programmed to activate independently of the video outputs. Primarily designed to provide a "reverse" signal for certain monitors, they can also be used to activate items when the blinkers are turned on or other events occur.

    12 Configurable Digital Inputs

This is the key to the VDX 404's flexibility. It has twelve digital inputs (six 12Vdc active high, six grounded active low), each of which can be configured to connect with either a standard switch, a blinker, or a momentary switch. Each input is also configured to control any or all of the video and digital outputs. Each switch can operate either independently or interactively with the other switches, allowing incredible flexibility. Inputs can even be configured to cycle through multiple states - allowing a momentary action to switch an output through multiple inputs.

    Designed for Automotive Environment

The VDX 404 is designed to operate in the automotive environment. It operates on 12 Vdc nominal, but tolerates voltages of up to 36 Vdc or as little as 9 Vdc. It uses just 200 mA of power, and is small enough (3.75"x5.5"x1.25") to be easily hidden away. And the VDX 404 is unique in being the only video switch that has a SAE J1939 vehicle interface, allowing it to be hooked up to the vehicle data bus in most RVs and cars.

VDX404 Serial Tool ( for changing the Configuration )

New VMSpc Hardware Supports USB, New Transmissions

The wait is over! If you have been waiting for a VMSpc with a USB port, or a VMSpc that supports even the newest Allison transmissions, your time has come. The JR501 JIB is now shipping.

The new VMSpc eliminates the old-fashioned serial port and replaces it with a USB connection. It's tested with XP and Vista, and will also work with the upcoming Windows 7. There is no longer any need for a USB adapter, and you don't need to worry about which you start up first, the engine or the program.

It also supports the latest J1939 transmissions and engines, including the current Allison World Transmission. Their are new parameters available with some of the new engines, and additional diagnostic capabilities. The new VMSpc handles all the new stuff.

And it still supports the old stuff, too. We didn't sacrifice any functionality from the old JIB, so the new JIB works with the old engines just fine.

    Improved Product - Same Price

Even though we've improved the product, we're not changing the price. VMSpc remains just $395.00, and the PC software is still a free download.

    Trade-In Program Available

If you already own VMSpc and are looking to upgrade, we have a trade-in program for you. Send in your existing VMSpc JIB and we'll ship you a new kit for just $229.00.

We're taking the old JIBs that come in, testing and updating them, and selling them again. If you don't need the USB port and have a pre-2007 rig, you can get the VMSpc "classic" for just $229.00. These units carry a full one-year warranty and are factory-tested. Supplies are limited by how many people take us up on the trade-in offer.

Introducing the Video Rats Nest Eliminator!

It's a bit of a departure for SilverLeaf, but there is a good reason for it. We were looking under the dash of a coach not too long ago and saw a most amazing rat's nest of cables. A whole family of nutria could have been living in there, and I had to ask the tech I was working with what they all were for. "Video", he said. "We have side cameras, and we run them to the dash, the overhead TVs, and so on. So we have a switch box, a few relays and diodes, some splitters and amplifiers. It's all in there."

"All those pieces and parts - there has got to be a switchbox out there that could do that in one box.", I prodded.

"If you can find one, let me know. We'd buy a load of them." He didn't sound too optimistic.

And indeed, there isn't such a thing. Sure, there are a lot of video switches that are designed for specific needs - but nothing that was designed for an RVer that wants to be able to check his side and rear cameras on more than just the dash monitor. I looked everywhere and couldn't find one.

So we just had to make one ourselves.

And now, three months later, we have the VDX 404 Video Switch. It takes four video sources and routes them to four video outputs in pretty much any combination. It responds to up to a dozen inputs, such as blinkers, transmission status signals, and accessory switches, and routes the video signals automatically in response.

Adding more monitors and cameras is trivial, up to the number four. Every output is buffered, eliminating the need for amplifiers or isolators. Every output is true to its source. And installation is as simple as it could possibly be.

One great idea we had was matching it with the new Garmin GPS. You can plan your trips with the GPS on the big-screen front TV, and then when you start driving watch the GPS on the VMS video. You can even add a video monitor on the passenger side - let the "navigator" plot the course, while the driver sees exactly the same GPS maps in the dash.

And that's just the beginning to the ideas that this device makes practical. Expect to see this in new coaches this Spring from several manufacturers, and in aftermarket installations across the country.
