If these are boolean values then why does a simple gauge that displays cruise status show a real number,"o.o"? What is the difference between "bit zero" and "bit match" when setting up messages?

Some PIDs have Statuses with Boolean Flags, because they are On or Off, like the Retarder Status or Cruse Control Status. If I Recall Correctly, the Bit Zero will Test as TRUE, if that particular Bit is Zero. Bit Match you Provide a One or a Zero, and it will Test as TRUE, if the Current Value of the Bit, Matches your "example".
